ELVIRA TATE HOSKINS, VMD, CVA

I attended University of Virginia as an undergrad. After graduating from University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine in 2000, I returned to Charlottesville.

I have been practicing as a small animal veterinarian in the Charlottesville area for over 20 years and have vast experience in both emergency and non emergency small animal practices. My interest in holistic veterinary medicine started over 15 years ago, and I have incorporated many alternative modalites into my practice ever since.

After completing my acupuncture training at Chi University and witnessing the many benefits to my patients, I enthusiastically made the decision to focus my practice exclusively on holistic veterinary care.

I continue to believe in Western/conventional medicine and will happily work with your primary veterinarian to provide an integrative approach for your pet's optimal health.

Outside of work, I enjoy hiking, biking, camping, live music and spending time with my menagerie of teenagers, dogs and hens.

SHANNON INDOE, DVM, CVA

I graduated from UVA with a degree in psychology before attending the Cornell College of Veterinary Medicine. I earned a DVM degree from Cornell in 2001 and returned to the Charlottesville area to practice equine medicine. After several years of working with horses and some years spent raising children, I look forward to focusing on veterinary medicine as a mixed animal holistic practitioner.

My passions incorporate the human-animal bond, preventative healthcare, and promoting the optimal quality of life for our companion animals.  Attending the acupuncture course at Chi University taught me the importance of balancing physical, emotional and environmental health through reducing pain, inflammation and stress in our veterinary patients.

I live in the Charlottesville area and enjoy spending time with my two children, dog, cats, and pony. In my spare time I restore antique chair seats, knit and quilt.
